Alicia's Ironman Triathlon

On August 28th 2011 I will be participating in an Ironman triathlon in Louisville, Kentucky. An Ironman event consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run for a grand total of 140.6 miles in one day. As many of you know, I am a Pediatric Oncology Nurse in Palm Beach County and I am reaching out to all of you today because while Doctors and Nurses work hard to try to cure cancer, families need more than just medical help to get through this stressful and fearful time in their lives. Once a child is diagnosed with cancer life quickly changes for the entire family which is where the Kids Cancer Foundation steps in.
